Some examples of major adaptations are:
- stair lift – internal or external
- through-floor lift
- converting bathroom to level access shower-room or wet room
- extension to provide downstairs bedroom and shower
- ramps.
The service we are able to provide will depend on the area in which you live. It may include:
A technical service to advise on how best to achieve the works, draw up plans and schedules as required, obtain all the necessary permissions and quotations and liaise with contractors once they are on site.
A caseworker service to advise on the availability of disabled facilities grants, their eligibility criteria and conditions, and to help you to make an application if you are eligible. Caseworkers may also be able to advise on any other services which might be of use to you.
In some cases our service may be free, in others it will involve a fee. If there is a possible cost to you for our service, we will explain this and agree it with you before you decide to go ahead.
